Another topic I have longer in my head: bidirectionality of routesI would like to stress out the fact, that climbing=route way is an oriented oneway "way" - usually ascented in the same direction. So it should probably render with little arrows as higways with oneway=yes.I think for climbing routes - the default is "oneway" and we need a tag for marking the "bidirectional" variant. Thats oposite default then for higways, which is correct in my thinking. What do you think of a key climbing:bidirectional=yes for this usecase?cc @Harald Husum - who brought the idea first. (edited)

So, there's two things to think about here. There are routes that are climbed bidirectionally, but there's also routes that are used as return routes by way of abseiling. This happens on multi-pitch cliffs where walking off is either impossible or impractical. For the latter I see climbing=abseil_route used, and I have used this tag myself at times. That only really works when the abseil route isn't itself a climbing route, which unfortunately happens often.Although I find climbing:bidirectional=yes good for indicating routes that are climbed in both directions, I think it might make sense to also figure out how to tag combined climbing=[abseil_]route s, such that we make sure we don't shoot ourselves in the foot somehow.Do we agree that climbing:bidirectional=yes specifically only refers to climbing, not abseiling? I.e., it is something like a ridge traverse? I think this would make sense, at least. And, if we go with that interpretation, what alternative do we offer mappers who want to indicate that "you should expect to have people rappelling down on you if you climb this route"? Is this a thing that needs tagging? On multipitch routes if there are anchors that are also abseil points, then parties may be rappelling the route, even if occasionally to bail before getting to an alternate descent.
